Leafs by Snoop: You’re Gonna Have a Good Time
Leafs by Snoop: Fruit Chews
Generally I put a statement from the company but oddly the website Leafs by Snoop doesn’t seem to be functioning. They have a super short wikipedia page that explains that Snoop partnered with Canopy Growth Corporation and a couple of other tidbits, but it is hard to find much more form the company itself.
There are a few blogs including The Travel Joint that have fun tidbits like this quote by Snoop:
“Wherever my musical journey has taken me around the world, it’s beautiful to see how chronic leafs are a common source of peace, love and soul that connects us all. I’ve always been proud of our movement and have personally selected my favorite strains to enjoy.
Leafs by Snoop is my way of sharing the experience I have with the finest quality cannabis one could imagine.
Let’s medicate, elevate, and put it in the air!”
Anyhow, here is what I thought of his Fruit Chews, which seem to be the only product in Colorado available by Snoop.
Dose: ½ a chew, 5mg THC
These edibles came highly recommended by a budtender at The Station in Boulder, Colorado, and quickly became a favorite. I mean, I never should have doubted that Snoop Dogg, the king of getting high, would have a great product. But I did have to try it myself. We purchased Strawberry, Lemon Cherry, and Raspberry and they all were pretty yummy.
Packaging: A company called Pentagram designed all of the packaging and did a really nice job making them look California cool. But am I alone in thinking that many cannabis brands seem to be heavily overpackaged? These have a cardboard cover, and plastic tray insert, and then each candy is individually wrapped in plastic. I know they have to be childproof and long-lasting, but the environmentalist in me feels bad every time I open one.
The Taste: These candies taste a lot like Laffy Taffy (but with even more Laugh-fy, sorry I had to…) they have a taffy-like texture paired with that artificial super sweet berry flavor from all your childhood candy dreams. So, not your organic, boulder-hippie approved ingredient list, but if that doesn’t bother you they actually taste pretty good. To look a little closer at the ingredients, these are super heavy on sugar (which is pretty common for cannabis candies, they are candy after all), high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils, gelatin (not vegan), artificial food coloring, and a ton of other ingredients. So these might not be the best candy for the super health conscious, I would normally try to avoid a lot of these ingredients in my diet, but for the sake of testing products I ate them all, multiple times.
The Experience: The candies are really well dosed, so you always know how high you are going to get. They have a perfect sativa/indica blend that avoids anxiety but gives a heavy dose of the giggles. Despite the ingredient list, these are some of the most fun edibles I have tried, and I pride myself on having tried a shit-ton of different brands. They remain high energy and are really great for physical activities (we went hiking) but definitely do not scramble your head too much that you cannot still talk and laugh with your friends.
And for a fun tidbit, according to POPSUGAR if you are Leo like me than these are the candies for you. So maybe I only liked them because of my zodiac sign… 😉
Overall: One of my favorite edible highs on the market for giggly, high energy, low anxiety, overall fun. Con’s the heavily artificial ingredient list (but hey, its candy and the dose is so small that it doesn’t bother me too much).
Energy: Med to High
Giggles: Med to High
Head vs Body: Body/Mix
